Reflexology is an alternative medicine which originates from traditional Chinese medicine. It involves placing light pressure on to certain points of your hands, feet and ears.  The acupressure points correspond to energetic points in your body.  By working these areas, it is possible to relieve pain naturally.  Here are six types of pain that you can get rid of by massaging your feet.

1) Heavy period pain: Massage your foot arch

You feet support your weight all day long and are almost always being used.  If you suffer from heavy period pains, you cab gently massage your foot arch with the tips of your fingers above your heel for around 30 seconds to a minute several times per day.  You will notice a quick decrease in pain and will no longer need to reach for a pain killer.

2) Sore throat: Massage your big toe

Delicately massage the area around and under your big toe with your fingers.  Massage each toe one at a time as well as the ends of all your toes.  You can do this for 30 seconds several times per day.  The massage will help to relieve a sore throat as these points in your feet are linked with your sinuses and your respiratory system.

3) Neck pain: Massage your big toe

Slowly massage the point where your big toe is linked to the rest of your foot with your fingers.  You can do this for 30 seconds several times per day if needed.  This area, which is directly linked to the neck, will help to relieve neck or cervical related pain.
