In the majority of cases, nausea and vomiting are caused by indigestion or stomach infection.  It is also possible to treat case of nausea with natural remedies.  Nevertheless you should contact a doctor if your sickness has been cause by medication, it last more than two days or if the person affected is less than three months or over 70 years old.  

1) Ginger

Ginger is a great remedy in a vomiting case as it contains gingerols which attack the stomach’s mucas and help you to stop vomiting quickly.

Boil up water in a pan and then cut up little pieces of fresh ginger into slices and then add them into the water.  Leave to infuse for 15 minutes, filter and then wait for the infusion to cool before drinking the cup with small sips.

2) Peppermint essential oil

This essential oil has antispasmodic properties which is why it is effective at calming stomach pains which cause you to vomit.

Pour two drops of peppermint essential oil onto a sugar cube and leave it to melt in your mouth.  You can take this natural remedy 3 to 4 times per day.

Be careful as peppermint essential is not allowed to be taken by babies and children under the age of 6 years old, elderly as well as pregnant or breastfeeding ladies.

3) Essential oil massage

When you are sick, the abdominal muscles and diaphragm contract so that they can reject what is bothering the stomach.  So as to reduce vomiting you can massage your thorax by mixing 1 drop of basil essential oil, 1 drop of lemon balm essential oil and 1 drop of lemon essence.

You can also simply add these drops of essential oil onto a tissue and then breath in when waves of nausea takes over.

4) Cider vinegar

Cider vinegar has antispasmodic properties which can limit or reduce vomiting.

Half fill a cup with cider vinegar and then heat up the vinegar in a pan.  Soak a cloth with the vinegar and the apply the cloth on to the skin around the liver and then cover with a towel to keep the heat in.

5) Homeopathy

The small homeopathy granules are made up of natural extracts of plants and sugar.  Ask for advice from your doctor before taking homeopathic remedies.

Ipeca 7CH can be an effective remedy to treat gastroenteritis symptoms. Doctor usually prescribes Nux vomica 7CH in case of gastric digestion and reflux problems and Cocculus indicus 7 CH against motion sickness.

6) Breathing

It is important to relax your breath and avoid contracting your stomach when your are suffering from a bout of vomiting.  Take slow and deep in and out breaths for about one to two minutes.  Restart this exercise each time you start to feel nauseous.
