Do you regularly suffer from headaches and have a grudge against taking pharmaceutical medicine? Then these natural remedies are made for you.  Easy to make and ready in a few minutes, they will naturally alleviate your pain. 

1/ Ginger tea

For a long time ginger has been used for its medicinal properties, especially in Asia.  With natural anti-inflammatory properties similar to aspirin, a concoction of this sturdy plant will rapidly get rid of your head ache!

Recipe :

Mix 3 slices of fresh ginger and a slice of lemon in a pan with the equivalent of a bowl of water.  Bring to the boil and then reduce the heat and leave to infuse for 20 minutes before drinking.
You can also replace fresh ginger with half a teaspoon of powdered ginger diluted with 150 ml of water. 

2/ Peppermint essential oil

Peppermint is known for having numerous benefits but it is also often recommended to alleviate tension head aches or migraines. These pains are generally provoked by stress or periods of prolonged concentration.

Recipe :

Moisten a piece of cotton wool or a cotton pad with a few drops of peppermint oil and apply to the base of your neck. Massage your temples for 10 minutes with the help of the essential oil.  As well as relaxing you, the anti-inflammatory properties of the mint will relieve your pain by improving your blood circulation.

3/ Concoction of Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne Pepper is often used to season dishes but it also has other benefits aside from in the kitchen such as its painkilling effects for migraines.

Recipe:

Dilute a teaspoon of Cayenne pepper in glass of warm water then mix so that there is nothing left at the bottom of the glass.  Dip a cotton-bud into the mixture and wipe the inside of your nostril until you start to feel the effects.  You can then add a little lemon and honey and drink the rest of the mixture.

4/ Apple cider vinegar

Just like the previous ingredients mentioned, apple cider vinegar has multiple medicinal properties and is great for your health.  It is high in potassium, calcium, magnesium and phosphor but it is also brilliant for combating minor migraines and headaches.

Recipe :

  • Heat up apple cider vinegar (equivalent of 3 tablespoons) and water in a pan.  Put the mixture in a bowl and cover with a cloth. Place your head over the bowl and inhale the steam created by the mixture for 10 minutes.
  • Mix 100 ml of vinegar in a bowl of boiling water:  Once the mixture has cooled down, soak a cotton pad in the mixture and apply it to your forehead for 20 minutes.
