The female orgasm can take many different forms, such as the vaginal orgasm and clitoral orgasm. The latter arises in the clitoris, and is “easier” to achieve. Only 30% of women typically have vaginal orgasms. Find out how to detect the tell tale signs!

The vagina contracts in a real female orgasm

The female orgasm is generally characterised by involuntary and automatic contractions of the vagina, the uterus and the surrounding muscles. The first contractions are often the most intense, and the following ones tend to reduce in intensity. The average interval between two contractions is 0.8 of a second. In total, an orgasm can last between 3 and 12 seconds.

The muscles tighten

Particularly in terms of the clitoral orgasm, all the muscles in a woman’s body tighten up, her breathing accelerates and she may begin to moan. At this moment, it is necessary to continue to stimulate the same sensitive area at the same speed. The clitoris tends to swell and become more visible. The vagina secretes a lubricating liquid in varying quantities, depending on the woman.

The genitals become hyper-sensitive

While the area is stimulated, blood flows to the genitals and to certain parts of the body, such as the breasts, which can grow by up to 20%! This increase in blood flow causes swelling and hardening of the clitoris, swelling of the lips, dilation of the vagina and sometimes, hardening of the nipples. A liquid is secreted at the moment of orgasm by the glands at the entry to the vagina.

She goes red from adrenaline!

At the moment of the female orgasm, a woman’s cheeks go red. The genital organs (the clitoris, the lips, etc.) also become red, swollen by increased blood flow to the areas. Sometimes, red patches can appear in certain areas, such as the chest or the upper back, but this is no cause for alarm! It is simply adrenaline which dilates the superficial blood vessels in the skin.

Some women can achieve female ejaculation, but this is rare. An abundant clear liquid resembling sperm is released from the urethra, secreted by the glands near the G-spot.

And then relax…

When a woman has an orgasm or physical pleasure, the pituitary gland triggers the release of endomorphins. These are natural chemicals that resemble morphine, which produce a sensation of well-being and satisfaction.

A real orgasm is followed by a so-called recessive phase. The genital organs go back to their normal size and colour, the muscles relax and breathing slows down.
