Everyone knows that chemically produced cosmetics contain a number of harmful components for our skin and our health. People are increasingly looking toward more natural cosmetics. If we can make them ourselves at home even better! In fact it has never been more simple to make your own homemade cosmetics. By choosing the right ingredients (preferably organic), the right recipes and the appropriate storage bottles, you will soon be filling your beauty cabinets will all natural products made by you!
1. Brush your teeth with a coconut oil toothpaste
The majority of toothpastes sold in supermarkets contain a whole host of chemical products such as fluoride, triclosan or sodium lauryl sulphate. These indecipherable ingredients have no positive effects for our health nor for the environment.
Our natural recipe: Add 3 tablespoons of coconut oil, without melting it into a non-metallic bowl. Continue by adding 1 tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda, half a tablespoon of kaolin clay, 20 drops of mint essential oil and 15 drops of clove essential oil (good for the gums). Using a wooden utensil, mix all the ingredients together and transfer into an airtight glass jar.

2. Make up remover made from olive oil
Change your make-up removing habits and use the natural properties of olive oil to clean your pores before going to bed. As well as removing impurities that accumulate in your skin during the day, the oil will also keep you skin hydrated.
Our natural recipe: Drop a few drops of olive oil onto a washable cotton pad and use it to take of your make up. You can also massage the oil into your face with your fingertips.
3. Homemade make-up wipes
Say goodbye to single use make-up wipes, as from now on you can make your own wipes with the same effective results.
Our natural recipe: Pour 500 ml of water into a pan. Add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, coconut oil and castor oil. On the hob, mix together using a whisk and then pour into a large bowl. Use paper towels to make your own make-up wipes. To do this, pull off a sheet and immerse the paper towel into the mixture. Leave to soak for a few minutes before using.

4. Body scrub made from ground coffee
Ground coffee is an ingredient that is easy to come by. Keep your used coffee grounds and pour them into a small glass jar. Add olive oil and a few drops of essential oil. You can use this homemade mixture as a body scrub, but it is also particularly effective at overcoming cellulite on the hips, belly and bottom.

5. Drink herbal tea for beautifully cleansed skin
If you are lucky enough to live in the countryside and have your own herb garden you will be able to dry out your own herbs and concoct your own herbal infusions. A great herbal tea recipe for beautiful skin contains mint leaves, lemon balm or lemon verbena. Add these leaves to boiling water, leave to infuse, filter and then enjoy!
6. Homemade sun cream stick
Although the recipe is easy to follow the ingredients can be quite hard to find in the supermarket. You’ll have to search in specialist shops or online to find what you need to make this homemade organic sun cream stick.
Our natural recipe : Melt 30 g of vegetable butter (cacao or shea butter) in a bain-marie and add 30 g of bees wax. After the two have melted take the bowl off the hob and add 1 tablespoon of zinc oxide and half a tablespoon of vitamin E. Mix together.
Before cooling , pour the mixture into an old and empty deodorant stick. You will be able to use the sun cream stick the following morning.

7. Lip balm made of honey
Give your lips what they deserve. In summer just as in winter, it is important to take care of your lips with a hydrating balm that can naturally repair and nourish.
Our natural recipe: In a bain-marie, melt 100 g of bees wax. In another bain-marie heat up 200 ml of coconut oil. Mix the two together in a glass bowl and add 40 g of honey and continue to mix. Next add 10 drops of lemon essential oil. Pour the mixture into a small tub, preferably glass, before leaving to cool over night before using.
