The equipment you will need for these recipes

To make one of these 7 recipes, you will need:

  • little pots with covers, ideally made from glass, and sterilised with hot water
  • or one or more lipstick tubes, sterilised in hot water.

1) Shea butter balm for lip repair

Ingredients

  • 2 dessertspoons of shea butter
  • 4 to 8 drops of petitgrain essential oil

Method

  • Melt the shea butter on a bain marie
  • Take it off the heat and add the essential oil, stirring gently
  • Pour the mixture into a glass pot or lipstick tube while it is still hot

2) Rapid protective natural lip balm

Ingredients

  • 1 dessertspoon of shea butter
  • 3 to 4 drops of Roman chamomile essential oil
  • 1 vitamin E capsule

Method

  • Melt the shea butter over a bain-marie. Pierce the vitamin E capsule and add its contents to the butter, and stir it.
  • Take it off the heat and add the essential oil, stirring again.
  • Pour the mixture into your container while it is hot.

3) Simple and natural lip balm recipe

Ingredients

  • 5 grams of granulated beeswax
  • 15 mls of sweet almond oil
  • 2 drops of damask rose essential oil, or rosewood essential oil

Method

  • Melt the beeswax with the sweet almond oil on a bain marie.
  • Take it off the heat, add the essential oil, and mix it all together.
  • Pour the hot liquid into your glass pot or lipstick tube.

4) Acacia honey oriental balm

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons of granulated beeswax
  • 15 mls of sweet almond oil
  • 1/2 a teaspoon of acacia honey
  • 2 drops of petitgrain essential oil

Method

  • Melt the beeswax in a bain marie, and stir in the sweet almond oil and the honey.
  • Remove it from the heat before adding the essential oil, and stirring again.
  • Pour the hot mixture into your chosen container.

5) Wheat based natural lip balm

Ingredients

  • 1 level teaspoon of granulated beeswax
  • 2 teaspoons of wheat germ oil
  • 2 teaspoons of olive oil
  • 1/2 a teaspoon of honey
  • 2 drops of Roman chamomile essential oil

Method

  • Melt the beeswax and the oils in a bain marie, stirring continuously.
  • Remove it from the heat and add the essential oil, still stirring.
  • Pour the mixture immediately into your glass pot or lipstick tube.

6) Quick and simple natural lip balm

Ingredients

  • 1 pea sized amount of shea butter
  • 1 drop of petitgrain essential oil (or rosewood or Roman chamomile)

Method

  • Wash and dry your hands.
  • Melt the shea butter in the palm of your hands, mixing with your index finger.
  • Add the drop of essential oil before mixing again.
  • Apply the balm directly to your lips with your finger.

If you have some mixture left over, apply it to your hands to keep them smooth and soft.

7) Natural soothing balm for chapped lips

Ingredients

  • ​​10 mls of sweet almond oil (or jojoba or borage oil)
  • 4 drops of Roman chamomile essential oil (or rosewood, lavender or petitgrain)

Method

  • Mix the sweet almond oil and the essential oil
  • Pour the mixture into a glass pot with a cover or into a lipstick tube.
  • When you apply the balm to your lips with the tip of your finger, don’t forget to massage it in to penetrate the lips with its naturally hydrating active ingredients.
