Waxing or shaving can leave marks and spots, and can irritate the skin. Whether it is men shaving their beards or women getting rid of unwanted body hair, the irritation can last from anything from a few minutes to a few hours. Here are 4 natural tips to soothe the skin and prevent irritation, such as the appearance of red spots on the legs. 

1) Rose water and turmeric

These two ingredients are effective for getting rid of the little red dots that appear after waxing. Although they are not painful, they are not exactly attractive -especially when you want to go to the swimming pool an hour afterwards! Mix a few drops of rose water with a small spoon of turmeric powder, and apply it to the relevant area to relieve the skin.

2) Chamomile teabags

Chamomile is great for naturally calming heat after shaving. After shaving, the skin is often irritated. To remedy this, leave 2 or 3 chamomile teabags to infuse in hot water. Remove them (and drink the tea if you like!) and place the teabags in the fridge for 15 minutes. Apply the teabags as a compress to your skin, for rapid relief!

3) Ice cubes

Apply an ice cube after each time you wax or shave to any areas in which the skin is irritated. The cold will soothe the burning and tingling sensations.

4) Lemon juice

Lemon juice is highly effective for removing wax residue from the skin after hair removal -as long as your skin is not too irritated, as it may sting!
