According to kinesiology, each organ and gland corresponds to a muscle. It is a method for diagnosing and treating ailments, which consists of completing muscular tests. The diagnostics can evaluate a person’s physical and emotional health. So in what cases can kinesiology be useful?

1) To treat muscle pains

Kinesiology treats the lack of muscle tone or muscle pains. According to this method, such problems are often due to dysfunction in the organ or gland that corresponds to the muscles.

The majority of practitioners have trained as chiropractors, but other health professionals or alternative therapists such as doctors, naturopaths or herbalists can also be kinesiologists.

2) To promote well-being

Kinesiology is an alternative medicine that relates to the mind and body, and which relies on Chinese medicine and its 5 components. It aims to detect energy, physical or emotional imbalances, in order to release us from stress, fear or other negative emotions.

Working on and ‘balancing’ the muscles as well as all of the meridian lines of the body is intended to provide the patient with general physical well-being and to help them sleep well, if they have been lacking in sleep.

3) To develop learning abilities

Educational kinesiology was invented by Paul Dennison, who aimed to improve learning abilities in children and adults alike. It can stimulate learning by releasing stress and promoting self-confidence, in order to succeed academically or professionally.

This is why this technique is recommended when we are feeling a little lost, when we are looking to find our career path or simply to support our own personal development.

What happens during a kinesiology session?

Several methods can be employed by kinesiologists, such as:

  • creative visualisation
  • acupressure (massaging specific energy points in the body)
  • harmonisation of the chakras or the meridians
  • the use of Bach flowers, sound, colour, etc.
  • movement or stress relief techniques

Kinesiology is suitable for people of all ages. A session usually lasts around an hour and a half, and a little less for children. 1 to 3 sessions are recommended to treat mild problems and 8 to 10 for more serious concerns.
