Particularly in winter, when the skin “breathes” less, wrapped up in jeans and tights, your bum can start to lose its elasticity and softness. For skin as smooth and supple as a baby’s bottom, here are two recipes for a home made, organic scrub and moisturiser to try out! 

Light body moisturiser for a well hydrated bottom!

Ideally go for organic ingredients to make both of these recipes.

Ingredients

  • 3 dessertspoons of coconut oil
  • The juice of half a lemon

Method

Mix the coconut oil with the lemon juice, and apply this treatment by massaging it delicately to the bum area for a few minutes. Leave it to work for 15 minutes and then rinse it with lukewarm water without soap. Repeat daily after your shower or wash, and your bum will be softer, brighter and blemish free!

Natural scrub for softening the skin

Ingredients

  • 1 glass of rose water
  • 1/3 glass of olive oil
  • 1 dessertspoon of sugar
  • A little water
  • 1/2 glass of talcum powder

Method

Dilute the sugar in a container with a little water, add the other ingredients and mix it until you have a smooth, even paste. Heat the paste in a bain-marie for around 5 minutes on a gentle heat, and leave it cool down until it is lukewarm. Apply it to the skin on your bum, scrubbing delicately but energetically to eliminate dead skin cells and remove imperfections, little spots, etc.

This scrub also works well on the elbows, knees and feet.
